Assam State Transport Corporation was constituted under Road Transport Corporation Act 1950 with effect from 31st March 1970. Before christened as a Corporation, it was a wing of Transport Department of Government of Assam. It came to effect from 16th January 1948 as “Road Transport, Assam” under Home Department. In the early part of 1950, it was transferred to Transport Department of Government of Assam. It continued as such till it became a Corporation with effect from 31st March 1970.

Age: Min-21 – Max- 43 (Age is relax able as per the norms of Government of Assam)
Pay: INR. 12,000/- 40,000/- with Grade Pay INR. 5400/- plus Lump Sum incentive of INR. 30,000/- (up to June, 2019 and 10% increment of basic pay per annum) and other allowances as admissible (6th Pay commission),
